Unfailing Love

It is during the tough days, when I am being stubborn or childish that I think God especially showers me with His love. I have been in a serious funk lately that just wouldn't seem to go away. Each day I would go about my business with a not so joyful mood and each day, God would be there loving me anyways. He would tell me He loved me through His word, through my husband, through a hymn, and just yesterday during the Sunday sermon.

All too often people give up on things. On their marriage, on their goals, on God. But the wonderful news is God's love for us never goes away. Even when we were sinners against the will and things of God, He gave us His Son.

I am overwhelmed every time I think about how He cares for me and continues to shower me with love. How can I ever even come close to showing Him, the King of the Universe, that I love Him back?! I can show love to others, to those in need and to the unlovable, to the orphans and widows and even to my enemies. It is a tall order to fill but with His strength and His supernatural love, I can love them. "Let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth." -1 John 3:18

My Prayer: Today, Lord, teach me to love you with my whole being and share this love with others.

Can you think of some specific ways you could demonstrate your love for God in your neighborhood? Have a Happy Valentine's Day!

Good Eats

When Jeremy and I first started dating, I was attending a cooking class at a local grocery store with my Mom each week. Because of this I was able to impress him with my fancy shmancy cooking skills. That store has since stopped offering the class and my work and other responsibilities have made it hard to plan the same meals that I used to. My sweet and oh so caring husband has been making most of the food in our household as of late. In this period of our lives this set up just works for us. I do enjoy cooking, don't get me wrong, but after a long day of work AND the long commute home, a hot meal sitting on the table already prepared is such a blessing!

So when I do cook, I like a recipe that is fast and/or something I can prepare ahead of time and just pop in the oven when I get home. I'd have to say that most of the recipes I make these days have been found online, and more specifically from other bloggers. I have accumulated some favorites from these amazing gals and they are husband approved. :)

Baked Egg Casserole

Make Ahead Brunch Bake

Santa Fe Soup

Grilled Avocado with Tomato & Corn Salsa

And a new recipes for my bible study next week. YUM!

Life Update and Random Babble

HAPPY GROUNDHOGS DAY!
I have not been posting as frequently because things they are a changin' in my world so I have been busy attending to those matters. I have a new job, new boss and new beginnings for the future. Monday was my official first day of work and it's been great! A little hectic getting used to new systems and bus routes but all in all it's been a very good move. God has blessed me so with this new opportunity!

One of my sweet new co-workers baked these adorable Groundhogs day cupcakes for everyone in the office. Definitely an idea I'll be using next year!

And on a final note, I stumbled upon this book that has some amazing ideas for weddings and all the parties associated with them. These ladies make party planning look way, WAY too easy. I wish it was this way when I did it :)
